Who we are

The vision of WholeCare

The Vision

To see a living partnership between the world of health-care and the Christian faith.

The Purpose

To provide a resource and develop a network for health professionals and other carers wishing to pursue innovative ideas in determining best practice in whole-person care.

The Aims

To identify, provoke and encourage the development of models of whole-person care.

To demonstrate the contribution that the Christian perspective can make to whole-person care.

To identify resources to support healthcare workers to relate their beliefs to their working environment. These will include courses, advice, publications, web-sites, and good-practice guidelines.

As a Christian initiative, this project:

is modelled upon the teaching and compassion of Jesus Christ as demonstrated in the Gospels;

is based on a conviction of the need to treat the whole person by seeking health rather than just alleviating illness.

Distinctive ways of working

With sensitivity - applying Christian beliefs within the healthcare environment in such a way that respects people as they are, irrespective of their faith or background.

In partnership - seeking collaboration between different professional disciplines to shed new light on whole-person care.

Through networks - linking existing organisations and initiatives wherever possible in a variety of different approaches.

By advocacy - becoming a prophetic voice at all levels within healthcare.
