Revd. Dr. Russ Parker |
Russ Parker has been Director of Acorn Christian Healing Foundation since 1995, which exists to resource and educate the church in the Christian Healing Ministry.
Part of Russ's contribution as Director has been to develop training materials.He is the author of a number of books which include: 'Healing Dreams'; 'Healing Death's Wounds"; 'Free to Fail'; 'Forgiveness is Healing' and 'Healing Wounded History' workbook.
Russ Travels extensively around the UK and abroad, lecturing and teaching in issues connected with the Christian Healing and counselling ministry. Russ was a Baptist Pastor from 1972 - 77, ordained in the Church of England in 1981. Assistant Curate in Bolton 1981 - 1985, Incumbent of Christ Church, Coalville 1985 - 1990, joined Acorn in 1990 and became Director of Acorn in 1995.
Russ was the Co-founder and Director of Christian Care and Counsel, (now called The Haven) which is a Christian Counselling ministry based in the East Midlands, with over 25 volunteer and accredited counsellors.
He has a post graduate degree in Dreams and Psychotherapy from Nottingham University. Russ was awarded a Doctor of Divinity from Columbia Evangelical Seminary in the United States in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Christian Ministry and his many writings and his teaching abilitie
s. In particular it was given for the standard of scholarship in his latest book 'Healing Wounded History' which is about reconciling peoples and healing places. Russ is married to Roz and lives near Farnham, Surrey.
His hobbies are photography and visiting Celtic holy places. He supports Liverpool Football Club, whether they are winning or losing!

Dr. Michael Harper
Until last year Michael was the CEO of Burrswood Christian Hospital and Place of Healing. As well as having CEO responsibilities, he also worked within the medical and chaplaincy teams.
Since the beginning of 2007 he has been a consultant in Palliative Care in Worcester, and also a part-time GP. He trained at Oxford, graduating in 1977, and after 5 years in the RAF spent a further 5 years in a Christian general practice in Port Talbot, South Wales.
He then made a move to palliative medicine in Swansea, and from there moved to become Medical Director of the Greenwich and Bexley Cottage Hospice. In 2000, he took up his post at Burrswood and in 2007 moved to Worcester.
He is married with four grown children and enjoys reading, travelling, cycling and photography - as the opportunities arise.
His passion? "I believe we have to re-discover together the power of taking God at His word, and live once more by His wisdom, not that of the world."

Dr Mike Sheldon
Dr Michael Sheldon has been an academic GP for many years, although he spent eight years in the middle of his life travelling all over the world helping to set up Primary Care work and AIDS counselling services in many developing countries as a member of Youth With A Mission.
For over 25 years he has had an interest in the whole-person approach to health care, and has developed a whole-person assessment clinic in general practice to help patients (and their doctors) understand the complexity of illness causation.
He attempts to combine an understanding of the physical, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions of health. He is married to Jenny, a priest in their local Anglican Church. They have 4 children and 8 grandchildren so far.

Dr Geoffrey Clarke
A consultant Rheumatologist in Essex since 1976. Founder and Director of Forth, a registered charity to improve resources for the treatment of NHS patients with rheumatological illnesses.
He is a trustee of the recently launched Essex Rheumatology Trust. He is also a co-founder of "The Other Ministry of Health", later renamed "Essex Christian Healing Trust", with Revd. Martin Wallace, now Bishop of Selby.
Geoffrey has edited the bi-annual journal for Whole Person Medicine which has been a lifelong concern. He joined the first expression of Acorn as a member of the apostolate set up by Bishop Morris Maddox. Geoffrey is married to Isabel and lives near Chelmsford.
His hobbies include humorous writing, poetry, drama, walking, reading and grandchildren, and he is a member of FCMUK.
